Job Description

We are delighted to be supporting a successful global business in helping them find a talented and experienced HR Advisor, for this newly created role. With their UK head office based in in the heart of Cardiff you will be joining a busy, dedicated, andevolving team.As the new HR Advisor, you will be reporting into an experienced and passionate HR Manager and will be part of a proactive team in helping to develop the people offering to the wider UK workforce. The role will initially focus on developing and improvingpolicies and procedures, compliance and GDPR projects.This is a business that prides itself in offering opportunities for employees to develop their professional skills, so as a result CIPD study is encouraged and supported.   • Provide valued and consistent advice to employees and leaders on matters relating to employment law, whilst staying up to date on the HR legal framework and best practice
  • Attend internal and external training events to keep abreast of employment law developments
  • Create, review, and update people policies and procedures
  • Monitor ongoing compliance regarding people policies and procedures, and report on non-compliant findings
  • Draft and manage employment contracts and documentation throughout the employment lifecycle and complete periodic reviews in line with legislation
  • Respond to employees at all levels on any employment contract queries
  • Take a proactive approach to risk management and ensure people risks and issues are identified and addressed
  • Assist with the Right to Work checks and work closely with the HR Co-ordinator and HR Manager to address any issues or risks
  • Provide advice and guidance to leaders on people practices such as performance management, disciplinary issues, and grievances etc.
  • Manage a wide and varied employee relations caseload
  • Assist employees and leaders through line management and/or matrix management, inclusive of performance management processes
  • Identify the need for leader up-skilling training, and work closely with the HR Coordinator and HR Manager to implement the training
  • Collaboratively work with the broader People & Governance team to raise the profile of the employee relations function
  • Undertake ad hoc projects in line with the overall People Roadmap
  • Liaise with external advisors and providers such as insurance brokers, lawyers, and employment specialists
The person specification
  • CIPD qualified/accredited (Associate) or relevant experience to demonstrate level of competence. Willingness to upskill to at least Chartered CIPD level
  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Demonstrate a good understanding and knowledge of HR policies and procedures
  • Commercial approach
  • Strong time management, organisation, and prioritisation skills
  • Ensure accuracy in all areas of work, whilst demonstrating a natural affinity for first class compliance records
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • High degree of computer literacy particularly in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience of working with HR systems and software - IRIS would be advantageous
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary on offer £36,000 - £39,000+ pa - depending on experience
  • Hybrid working - 3 days office and 2 days WFH with flexibility - Cardiff city centre office
  • 29 days A/L including bank holidays
