Job Description

Graduate Opportunity - Teaching Assistants (TAs)Fairwater, CardiffWeekly PayAcademics are currently recruiting for graduate Teaching Assistants (TA) to work in the Fairwater area of Cardiff. The roles are ideal for recent graduates who wish to gain paid experience in a professional environment or those who want to work in educationbut dont yet want to commit to a PGCE. We have day to day and contracted roles available to start ASAP.Experience of working with children or young people would be desirable but not essential. What we look for above all is a good standard of education, reliability and a good personality.The Responsibilities of an LSA Include

  • Providing support for pupils either in the classroom or on a 1:1 basis
  • Working as part of an already successful team to ensure that the learning and social objectives of the learners are met
  • Providing both praise and reinforcements
  • Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils
  • Use behaviour management strategies, in line with the schools policy and procedures, to contribute to a purposeful learning environment and encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with each other.
The essentials
  • Graduate Degree (essential)
  • An enhanced DBS check (essential) which is subscribed to the DBS Update Service (desirable)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (essential)
  • A good standard of literacy, numeracy and communication skills (essential)

  • Salary of between £350 and £425 per week (depending on experience)
