Job Description

Structural Engineer, Cardiff £27,000 - £30,000We are looking for an experienced structural engineer with building structures experience for an award winning practice to work in their Cardiff office. This engineering consultancy typically punches well above it’s weight with the kind of projects it brings in and has expanded it’s operation into the Bristol market. Projects come from across; Transport Planning, Environmental, Structural and Civil Engineering and have recently included:

  • Education projects up to £36m
  • Retail and Leisure up to £35m
  • Mixed use Residential up to £33m
  • Local breweries in the region of £3m
  • Automotive facilities circa £4m
    • As a Structural Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Detailed design and analysis duties on building structures from a range of sectors
  • Working closely with and supporting senior engineers
  • Undertaking site visits, supporting site managers on technical issues
  • Obtaining a good understanding of issues on site and devising and providing solutions with
  • Communicating with contractors and architects
  • Working towards chartered status and completing key objectives
  • Gradually taking on more responsibility until you are leading your own projects running solo site visits
    • A key factor for this role is someone who enjoys interactions with clients. Building and maintaining relationships is a key part of the company ethos.My client has contemporary offices and a pleasant working environment.   • A relevant degree in civil or structural engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of the design process
  • A keen interest in working in a digital BIM environment
