Sotic has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join the team.Location: CardiffSalary: £38k per annum for a 37 hour week, with an expectation of 7.5 hours per day.Sotic is a flexible employer and has adopted hybrid working. Visitor and view numbers can be very high for our websites, especially during live sporting events.All of our services are hosted in the Cloud on AWS. Most of our products run on a LAMP/LEMP stack, and we are migrating some of these to serverless technologies such as Lambda, SNS and DynamoDB. We are also interested in the potential of emerging technologies,such as AI.The RoleSoftware EngineerThe Role:Were looking for a confident and experienced Software Engineer who will thrive in an agency environment. You will have experience working to deadlines, juggling several projects simultaneously and will have seen several projects through to completion. Youwill be able to take a holistic view of a project, understanding that code is only complete once its pushed live. You will be adaptable to change and will know how to plan for all eventualities. At Sotic we deliver beyond the build and you will need to becommitted to a project beyond launchrecognising the need for continuous improvement.Software Engineer - Skills & Experience:Essential: - 2-3 years commercial experience developing software in either Python, GO or PHP (and have some exposure to the others)- Solid understanding of computing fundamentals (e.g. logic, data structures & algorithms, networks stack) along with strong software design skills, including OOP- Experience working on different types of projects such as API, web, serverless, data processing, etc- Confident discussing requirements with stakeholders- Proven experience of writing deliverable code- Experience working in an agile environmentDesirable:- Experience building for a cloud native environment- Experience building micro-service architectures- Experience building event-driven system- Secure coding practices- Experience working on the Linux command lineTo submit your CV for this exciting Software Engineer opportunity, please press Apply now.
