Job Description

Senior Systems Developer - Oracle Cardiff, Wales£45,000 - £50,000 per annumI’m on the lookout for a Senior Systems Developer (Oracle stack) to join one of our clients on a permanent basis in their Cardiff office.As the Senior Systems Developer, you’re ultimately being brought in to provide support and maintenance of in-house systems, intranets and websites, including all ICT system requirements gathering, analysis, development and integration.You’ll be expected to be able to design and support the databases as standard, as well as for any integrations with both current and future off the shelf systems and technologies. You’ll be working closely with other team members such as database administrators, business analysts, developers, testers and reporting staff.Other key tasks include:

  • Maintaining security controls relevant to company systems and databases
  • Development and support of in-house reporting and collaboration systems
  • Maintaining all software and database objects in the appropriate source/version control systems and working with colleagues to ensure these are secured adequately
  • Follow software release management procedures
  • Follow development procedures including testing and build standards
  • Work closely with business analysts to develop business solutions
    • Technology wise, we’re looking for someone experience within the Oracle stack, such as:
  • Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Developer, Forms and reports 10g or higher
  • BI Publisher optional
  • Extensive experience with Oracle Databases 10g or higher
  • Extensive experience with Oracle Application Server 10g or higher
  • Experience with Serena PVCS Version Manager desirable
    • This role would suit an experienced Systems Developer looking to take their career to the next level. There is a clear progression and development plan set out by the business and this role will see you act as deputy for the Applications Development Team Leader from time to time. Required skills
