Senior Public Health ResearcherResearch & Evaluation Division, Public Health WalesFixed term until 31st March 2023 (with potential to extend to March 2025)(Secondment opportunity considered)This is an exciting new opportunity to join the Research and Evaluation Division within Public Health Wales (based in Cardiff), as a Senior Researcher linked to the National Centre for Population Health & Wellbeing Research Centre (NCPHWR). In this role you will be responsible for developing and delivering a research programme focused on employment and health. Realising the potential of linked data in Wales, to examine the indirect impact of employment, income on health and wellbeing for individuals and households.The right person for the role will have experience in the analysis of large datasets (preferably in health or social care) and an ability to apply their transferrable skills in epidemiology, statistics, operational evaluation or research, analytics and/or related informatics.If appointed, you will join a supportive and multi-disciplinary team, working across organisational boundaries, applying your skills to complex public health challenges and sharing findings with others.The successful candidate will have a curious mind, excellent analytical skills, an aptitude to problem solve, and be motivated by delivering robust academic evidence to inform action.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.If you would like to discuss the role please do not hesitate to contact Dr Jiao Song (Public Health Statistician, jiao.song@wales.nhs.uk) or Dr Alisha Davies (Head of Research and Evaluation, alisha.davies@wales.nhs.uk).Close: Sunday 21st February 2021Interview date: TBCN.B.
