Job Description

Salary: National Minumum WageHours: 14 to 21 per week (flexible)Duration: 10-12 weeksLocation: HomeWould you enjoy providing support to a team driving social change across Wales, working to empower blind and partially sighted people to effect change in their local communities Would you like to improve your administrative skills whilst helping those affectedby sight loss If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Campaigns Team.The RNIB is the leading UKs sight loss charity helping blind and partially sighted people thrive. The role of the Campaigns Team at RNIB Cymru is to support and empower blind and partially sighted people to campaign for change at a local and national level.The Campaigns and Policy Officer supports blind and partially sighted people to campaign on matters that affect them in their area, such as inaccessible transport, public spaces, and healthcare. The Campaigns team creates and facilitates focus groups andworkshops that blind and partially sighted people can get involved in. Sometimes these events are organised in partnership with organisations such as Welsh Government and Transport for Wales. No matter what the subject is, the involvement of blind and partiallysighted people is crucial - it is the lived experience and personal knowledge on the matter that acts as the catalyst for change.This role could be your first job or your next move to getting back into work after a break. You will have sound IT skills including experience with MS Office - Outlook, Word and Excel, as well as good attention to detail and solid communication and organisationalskills.The role is part of RNIBs See Work Differently employment initiative for unemployed blind and partially sighted people to secure that first rung on the career ladder or who are returning to work following a career break.
