Job Description

Quest Search & Selection are working with a well-established wholesale business who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team.If you are a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in financial accounting, reporting, and compliance, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial integrity and success of their business.Key responsibilities of this Management Accountant role:

  • Oversee the financial accounting and reporting functions within the business, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and disclosures in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis, to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial records.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets, minimize financial risks, and ensure compliance with accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process, serving as the main point of contact with auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and support on complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, leases, inventory valuation, and other relevant areas.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, variances, and key financial metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Key requirements of this Management Accountant role:
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial accounting roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Solid knowledge of financial reporting standards (e.g. IFRS, GAAP) and experience in applying them to complex accounting transactions.
  • Experience in managing month-end and year-end closing processes, financial statement preparation, and external audits.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse complex financial data and draw meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Previous experience working in a Retail, FMCG, B2C or Hospitality business is desirable but not essential
  • At least Part-Qualified Accountant - ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW
