As such they are looking for a new Lead Data Engineer to join the team.Client DetailsLead Data Engineer - Financial ServicesThe organisation is a one of the UKs Leading Financial Services Groups with visibility across investment management, Insurance and Pensions.DescriptionLead Data Engineer - Financial ServicesRole Purpose: To lead the technical aspects of data engineering projects while working closely with solution architects to ensure the integrity and consistency of end to end technology solutions in order to deliver the Group Strategy, meet requirements and costs. Ensurealignment to Group IT technology strategy and enterprise architecture, policies and standards.Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the solutions developed and deployed are fit for purpose and fit for use, meet the business requirements, adhere to quality standards and deliver value within cost constraints.
  • Ensure all developments follow the agreed change process.
  • Work with security architecture to ensure all solutions are fully approved.
  • Provide input into project and resource plans and support business case production.
  • Work within an agile methodology framework
  • Oversee solution development including implementation engagement as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of technology options and survey external market landscape for solution insights, direction, and vendors, as required.
  • Identify issues and risks and lead their resolution as required.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in existing services.
ProfileLead Data Engineer - Financial ServicesTechnical Skillset:
  • Database Technology including DB2 and Snowflake
  • WhereScape Red Database Automation
  • Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Basic data architecture principles, solutioning and ETL experience and understanding
  • Dimensional/schematic modelling and design
Experience:
  • Requirements gathering and documentation
  • Defining and documenting complex data solutions/dimensional models
  • Delivering change within a highly regulated environment
  • Test and release management experience
