Acorn Recruitment is currently looking for a Personal Independent Advisor for an established third sector client to work weekends on a part-time basis. The hours will be 7 on Saturday and 7 on Sunday with the option to opt for more during the week. Our client provides expert, specialist, trauma informed independent support and advocacy to women and children through a range of delivery mechanisms. This position will work alongside accommodation staff to provide high-quality frontline service to victimsof domestic and sexual abuse.Please note: Post open to women only under the Equality Act 2010 pursuant to schedule 9, part 1 Salary: £20,500 pro-rata (circa 14 hours per week) Main Responsibilities: * Act as first point of contact for all calls coming into the service at weekends and out of hours * Process and contact all public protection notices received in accordance with best practice and KPI timeframes * Identify and assess the risks and needs of service users using specialist intervention toolkit and risk indicator checklist * Prioritise cases and provide pro-active immediate crisis intervention through individual safety and support planning * Support, signpost and refer women and children to the services they wish to engage with, for example, social services, police, parenting, health, legal, DWP, housing and other servicesKey Requirements: * Experience of working with vulnerable people, including families and/or children * Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework * Hold a SafeLives IDVA training certificate, or a relevant degree, or demonstrable equivalent experience * Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations * Have a good understanding of domestic violence/abuse including the impact of such abuse on victims and their children * Have theoretical, practical, and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of such abuse * Understand child protection issues, how to respond to effectively safeguard, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issuesAcorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
