Job Description

INDEPENDENT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVISORYolk Recruitment Public Sector and Not for Profit are working with an established charity based in Cardiff to find a personal advisor to join their team.Do you want to be in a role that helps to make a huge impact on the lives of hundreds of Women Are you an individual who wants to help to make a difference and give women across Wales their voice back Yolk have partnered with a large women-led organisationwhich helps to support women and end Violence against women.We are looking for someone with experience within the domestic violence/social services sphere. Experience in substance misuse charities and justice providers may also prove relevant. Someone who is compassionate and empathetic, who works extremely well undertheir own management as well as working well within a team.What you will be doing as a Personal Advisor:

  • Identifying and assess the risks and needs of service users.
  • Working with a heavy caseload of sensitive and emotional cases.
  • Prioritise cases and provide a pro-active.
  • Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
What the Personal Advisor will bring to the team:
  • Have a good understanding of domestic violence/ abuse including the impact of domestic violence/ abuse on victims and their children.
  • Understand the principles of risk assessment.
  • Experience working with vulnerable people.
  • Confident in managing a busy caseload.
An IPA/IDVA is desirable but not essential.Here is what you will get in return as a Personal Advisor:
