We are a global remote community operating across multiple regions where our cultures and individuality are respected and appreciated.The roleReporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure will lead a dynamic and highly skilled team to support technology-enabled business strategies and operations to drive increased agility, scalability, and improve servicequality of the Technology Operations, Infrastructure and Cloud services, supporting our growing product and customer base.In a fast-paced environment, this role will play a critical part in not only leading this team, but in partnering with Product, Architecture, Development, and QA teams to deliver our SaaS solutions to the world.Key responsibilities and expectations

• Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of managing Cloud Services (Microsoft Azure and AWS) including Cloud architecture, infrastructure as code (IaC), software deployment and upgrades, system setup and administration, monitoring, incidentresolution, problem management, configuration and change management, security management and monitoring, capacity planning, availability management, disaster recovery and routine update of services.
• Create and maintain architecture and strategies related to Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Services (AWS and Azure), ensuring all performance and cost curves are closely managed.
• Drive the adoption and articulate the risks/opportunities from leveraging Cloud Infrastructure.
• Develop the appropriate performance metrics and reporting and recommend remediation actions and a plan for operational and financial excellence in the Cloud.
• Work closely with PureCyber (SIEM Solution Provider) to produce and update appropriate dashboarding, monitoring and alerting.
• Oversee and direct the timely evaluation, qualification, and implementation of new software products, tools, and related appliances as it pertains to the Cloud environment.
• In collaboration with Development and Architecture, lead the definition and development of Company Infrastructure Architecture.
• Ensure Cloud solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, monitored, auditable and cost optimised.
• Oversee and direct the continuous evaluation and implementation of cost saving strategies with regards to the Cloud environments.
• Ensure compliance of the infrastructure with our industry and regulatory certifications (e.g. PCI-DSS, PCI-PIN, ISO27001). Continually evaluate existing infrastructure to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
• Define and implement procedures to achieve operational excellence, scalability and resilience.
• Implement Cloud and DevOps industry best practices and tooling. Stay abreast of the evolving landscape and evaluate new technologies to make substantiated recommendations for improvement.
• Be part of on-call support roster and participate in after-hours upgrades and troubleshooting activities, as required.

Knowledge, skills and experience Required

• Deep knowledge of information technology infrastructure domains such as compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, technologies and architectures, IT service delivery principles and best practices.
• Deep understanding of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) Cloud computing operations and transition.
• Proven track record of success in architecting and operating distributed systems on Cloud platforms.
• Experience of team leadership and developing talent across DevOps and Cloud infrastructure.
• Extensive customer relationship management, operations and delivery experience.
• Relevant experience in an IT Infrastructure, Developer or DevOps role.
• Hands-on experience working with Cloud infrastructure and services (Azure and AWS).
• Hands-on experience working with SCRUM Agile methodologies.
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and tools (Azure DevOps preferred).
• Experience with IaC tools (Pulumi preferred, Terraform, Bicep or ARM also useful).
• Experience with Containers & Container Orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with at least one scripting language.
• Git repository and release management experience.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and experience working in Production environments.

• Good understanding of distributed applications and micro services.
• Experience with configuration management tools.
• Experience with compliance & security standards across the enterprise IT and payments landscape, specifically PCI-DSS and ISO 27001.
• Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience.
• .Net (C#) development experience.
• Typescript and/or Python experience.
• Advanced Bash and/or PowerShell scripting.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, Postgres and/or Redis.
• Knowledge of Azure architecture and understanding of trouble shooting applications hosted on the Microsoft stack. Azure certification a bonus.
• BSc or Diploma in Computer Science, Software or IT related discipline.
