ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Hairdresser at this brand new Barchester care home, youll create a professional and sociable in-house hairdressing salon that helps us to deliver excellent person-centred care for our residents.Self Employed Hairdresser - Required for Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home, Castleton, Cardiff, CF3 2UQ2 to 3 days per week (Up to 16-18 Hours per week)We are looking for a self-employed experienced hairdresser for Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home. You will be aqualified Hairdresser with at least 1-2 years experience and be able tocut, set and dry using all techniques and skills. You will be a caring individual who has experience of working with the elderly & people with dementiaOpening in early 2019 in Edinburgh, Queens Manor Care Home has been specifically designed to provide quality residential care to older people and those living with dementia. Located in the north end of Edinburgh on Queensferry Road, Queens Manor will providea warm, homely and friendly environment for 60 residents. Its dedicated Memory Lane community, which supports residents with dementia, will offer everything from a sensory garden through to activity kitchens. This is your opportunity to help make this first-classhome a success from day one.Visiting our hairdressing salon provides an enjoyable, social experience that enhances our residents dignity and quality of life. Our ethos is all about celebrating life, so youll help to create an in-house hairdressing salon that will be one of the highlightsof our residents day.An extremely rewarding role, part of your time as a Hairdresser will be spent getting to know our residents so you can maximise their wellbeing and social engagement. This role would suit a part-time or self-employed hairdresser who can manage the needsof our residents around their usual working patterns.At the time of opening the home to residents, there will be no set shifts so a flexible approach to working hours will be required.ABOUT YOUYoull need to be friendly, approachable and enjoy conversation to join us as a Hairdresser at Barchester. Playing an essential role in maintaining our residents sense of independence, fulfilment and choice, you hold a relevant hairdressing qualification andhave experience of working as a hairdresser. Ideally youll also have experience of providing hairdressing services for older people.You will advise residents about their hair, styling and scalp treatments and confidently work to a professional standard.
