Job Description

They have an exciting strategy and vision going forward and are looking for a well rounded candidate to join the team.Description1.Preparation of the ICAAP and oversight of Pillar III, liaising with all departments as required to source agreed, robust inputs

  1. Second line oversight of Financial Risk / prudential reporting for ALCO, RiskCo and Board
  1. Second line oversight of capital and liquidity forecasting, including mortgage, savings and other stress-testing over the strategic planning period
  1. Second line oversight of key regulatory returns
  2. Second line oversight of capital disclosures for other key documents, including the Recovery Plan and Resolution Pack, the Strategy and the annual report and accounts.
  1. Second line oversight of financial support to strategic initiatives, applying challenge and sensitivity analysis. Develop and/or review independent models relating to strategic initiatives where appropriate, to assess the appropriateness of Finance modelsand offer solutions and alternative courses of action where first line models are sub-optimal.
  1. Lead on co-ordination and performance of review of the key models to ensure accurate and timely reporting, supported by robust modelling, repeatable processes and appropriate documentation
  1. Provide second line oversight of controls assurance testing related to Financial Risk, providing appropriate input to control design
  1. Work with leaders within Finance, acting as a critical friend to ensure controls in relation to Financial Risk are in place that are appropriate to the risk
  1. Maintain technical expertise for new and emerging accounting developments and prudential -related regulatory change, highlight change to senior leaders.
  1. Maintain a good working knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements, perform horizon scanning, highlight relevant changes to Finance.
  1. Compliance with legal, regulatory and procedural requirements
  2. Attend Board and committee meetings as appropriate to present the ICAAP, and deputising for the Head of Financial Risk management in relation to presenting regulatory change, model oversight and Financial Risk oversight
  1. Provide cover for the Chief Risk Officer in the review of key Risk management information and to perform other duties as required
  1. Dedicate time to relevant CPD, covering accounting developments, regulatory developments and legal developments
Profile
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements related to capital, liquidity, interest rate risk and credit risk and stress-testing for Financial Services
  • Experience of modelling and reviewing financial and strategic plans, including options appraisal and sensitivity analysis
  • Experience of Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office Packages, including
  • experience with dealing with large datasets
  • Experience in producing and presenting complex financial information effectively,
  • accurately and efficiently
  • Aware of the need of confidentiality and the Data Protection Act
  • Ability to engage constructively with stakeholders across the business, to collaborate with colleagues, and build effective relationships.
  • Self-motivation and personal drive to complete tasks to required timescales & quality standards
  • Ability to quickly assimilate and understand new information
