Job Description

I am recruiting on behalf of a well-known SME business in Cardiff who is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to join its small finance team.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial advice and support to the Directors/Trustees to make sound business decisions. You will be joining a close-knit stable company who values their employeesMain duties of the role will include -

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting data
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and internal reporting
  • Identify and report problem areas and financial inefficiencies to Board of Directors
  • Timely management reporting
  • Timely statutory reporting
  • Cash flow monitoring and interpretation and debtor balance control
  • Budget planning
  • Ensuring financial practices are in line with all statutory legislation and regulations with advice from companys Accountants
  • Providing and interpreting financial information
  • Providing financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk
  • Monthly management reporting pack and comments to key stakeholders
  • Monthly business review at Board of Director meetings
  • Monthly payroll function and dividend vouchers
  • Monthly petty cash and credit card reconciliations
  • Monthly sales and rental invoice generation
  • Weekly cashflow forecast and bank reconciliation
  • Weekly supplier invoice posting and payment run
  • Quarterly VAT return submission to HMRC
  • Annual P11d preparation and submission to HMRC
  • Annual budget compilation including forecast projections
  • Annual accounts preparation and compilation of accounting pack
  • Company administration/ pension administration
  • Pension fund administration
  • Streamline the accounts function and review of accounting processes/ set up
Experience required -
  • AAT qualified / QBE / Part Qual
  • Good analytical and skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines under pressure
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • IT literate including Sage & Excel
  • Knowledge of payroll and share dividends payments
  • Daily communication with Directors and regular communication with management team
  • Communicate finance issues to non-finance staff
  • Communication with Accountants, Pension Management Company & HRMC
This role will ideally suit a hands-on Finance Manager who is keen to join a very reputable small business a play a pivotal role in the on-going success of the organisation.After successful passing of probation period, the role will offer up to 2 days WFH.
