Job Description

Public Health Wales2 x Consultant in Health Improvement posts!Hybrid working (Bases in Cardiff, Swansea, Carmarthen, Bangor, Wrexham)£77,000 - £104,000 (per annum DOE)Panoramic Associates have been retained by Public Health Wales to support them recruitment of 2 x Consultants in Public Health (Health Improvement), after securing additional funding for the National Smoke-Free 2030 agenda/wider Health Improvement initiatives.Public Health Wales is a well-established and innovative National Public Health Institute.Its the National Public Health Waless vision in working to achieve a healthier future for Wales and, in delivering this vision, it plays a pivotal role in driving improvements in population health and well-being, reducing health inequalities, improvinghealthcare outcomes, protecting the public, and supporting the development of health in all policies across Wales.Role introduction:

  • Leading a multitude of Tobacco based programmes/strategies in alignment with the national Smoke-Free Wales 2030 agenda.
  • The post holder will provide specialist expertise and strategic leadership within the field of Health Improvement as part of the Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Group.
  • The Consultant will lead implementation of a whole system approach to improving health and reducing inequalities in relation to agreed priority outcomes.

Essential requirements:
  • Candidates must be included in the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice / GDC Specialist List (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview) OR be included in the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public HealthSpecialists (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview)
  • Candidates for Consultant in Public Health Medicine posts who trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview. Alternatively,applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).
