Job Description

If this opportunity is of interest to you with some flexibility, please do discuss with us.Your roleGiven the importance of risk management to the achievement of the firms strategy there is a desire to further embed a consistent, mature and sophisticated risk infrastructure that effectively identifies, mitigates, manages and monitors risks. This roleoffers exciting opportunities for professional growth and contribution to one of the QRS teams strategic priorities.

  • The enterprise risk framework (ERF): this sets out the Executives assessment of the risks that could impact the firms reputation and its ability to meet its strategy and public interest obligations.
  • The portfolio risk review (PRR): assessment of the firms business portfolio from a risk and reputation perspective, including services provided to clients, staffing, markets, economic and political factors, public interest, management, litigation and regulation.
  • The system of internal control: the firm is required to maintain a sound system of internal control and risk management. A review of effectiveness in the UK is required at least annually including risk management systems; financial, operational and compliancecontrols; and the promotion of an appropriate culture underpinned by sound values and behaviour.
  • Monitoring & remediation: the firms programme of monitoring activities provides real time and/or retrospective feedback on the effectiveness of controls, including individual compliance. Where issues are identified, action is required to bring continuousimprovement.
Responsibilities:You will primarily be supporting our Enterprise risk lead with the management of all elements of the firms enterprise risk management processes including the enterprise risk framework, portfolio risk review, identification of emerging risk and implementationof supporting risk policies.Specific tasks will include:
  • Helping to coordinate the execution of the enterprise risk framework management and reporting including planning and performing leadership interviews, analysis of responses, production of an ERF refresh report and updated risk profile
  • Working with Executive level risk owners and their teams to identify and regularly report required mitigation activities
  • Supporting with the periodic reporting on the status of the ERF for the Executive and Board
  • Helping with the implementation of an approach for the proactive identification of new/emerging risks
  • Analysing outputs from Business led reviews of their portfolio to identify themes, trends and outliers
  • Working with other teams within QRS to supplement themes and trends with supporting data analytics
  • Drafting risk packs and reports of themes, trends and analysis for presentation to the risk owners, RRL, Executive, and governance bodies
  • Supporting the implementation of actions agreed with the UK and QRS Executives to further develop and embed the enterprise risk management processes into the business cycle to enable risk management to better support the executive debate and decision making

  • Experience of risk management and/or internal controls with knowledge of COSO or other relevant risk management frameworks
