Area Sales Manager - Hand & Power Tools and Builders HardwareJob Title: Area Sales Manager - Hand & Power Tools and Builders HardwareIndustry Sector: Hand Tools, Power Tools, Builders Hardware, Fixings & Fastenings, Ironmongery, Security Products, Sealants, Additives, PPE, Plumbing, Independent Retailers, Timber Merchants, Builders Merchants and DIY StoresArea to be covered: Mid/ South Wales & BS and BARemuneration: £35,000 basic + £45,000 OTEBenefits: Hybrid car, travel expenses and full benefitsThe role of the Area Sales Manager - Hand & Power Tools and Builders Hardware will involve:

  • Field sales position, selling our clients distributed range of hand tools, power tools, fixings & fastenings, ironmongery, sealants, additives and security products (extensive portfolio with more than 20,000 products
  • Promoting household brands such as, Sika Everbuild, ForgeFix, Stanley Tools, Soudal, Makita Power Tools etc.
  • Selling into only independent customers including; retail showrooms, builders merchants, timber merchants and DIY stores
  • Responsible for circa 70 customer accounts initially (55% spending/ active)
  • 75% account development, 25% new business development( recruiting an extra 10-12 customers per annum)
  • Tasked with growing an established area from £20,000 turnover per month to £40,000-£50,000 per month over the next couple of years
  • Typically 6+ customer visits per day
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Hand & Power Tools and Builders Hardware with:
  • Must have sold into similar customers; independent retail showrooms, builders merchants, timber merchants or DIY stores
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, fixings & fastenings, ironmongery, sealants, additives and security products
  • Ideally worked for a competitor
  • Outgoing team player
  • Conscientious, results drivenover-achiever/ commission hungry
  • Autonomous and able to hit the ground running
  • Dynamic / energetic approach
  • Must be prepared to put in the hours/ knock on doors
