Job Description

Automotive Service AdvisorWe are an award winning, family owned and operated, multi franchise dealership situated in Camelon, Falkirk since 1987 and we are looking to recruit an automotive service advisor to join our experienced team. Our service reception is very busy, and the right candidate will have to be able to handle a high volume of calls and be a friendly face to our customers in face-to-face interactions.The role:

  • To take service department bookings via the phone, email or by visit whilst ensuring efficient workshop loading.
  • Use the relevant manufacturer computer systems to correctly price work to be carried out.
  • To greet customers when they arrive at the service and parts desk, administer the bringing in and collection of vehicles and be able to answer questions about any work that may be need carried out.
  • Attend to all customer requirements in a helpful, courteous and efficient manner to maximise customer retention, further enhancing our family friendly’ atmosphere.
  • To ensure invoices are posted and distributed correctly.
  • To handle payments from customers for work carried out.
  • Administer our loan car fleet.
  • Consult with technicians about necessary repairs and possible alternatives.
  • Advise customers about warranty information, and about available OEM and aftermarket part options.
  • Call/email/text service and MOT reminders on a regular basis to maximise revenue.
  • The person:
  • Knowledge of the after sales side of the automotive industry.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate equally well with technicians, customers, other departments in the dealership and senior management.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of a Dealer Management System (like Kerridge or Navigator DMS) being preferable but not essential as training can be provided.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Excellent time keeping.
  • We offer a family friendly, family run and customer focused business. The right candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to work to a deadline with exemplary time keeping and keep a cool head when things are busy.Hours of work are Monday 8.30am-4pm, Tuesday to Friday 8.30am-5pm. Overtime and the occasional Saturday morning shift may be required at peak times.
