Job Description

Our client is seeking a DBA Application Support for an 2 year FTC, remote working.They are looking for someone with strong experience in MySQL and Postrgres SQL.

  • Manage the day to day operation, security and safety of the companies SQL, MySQL and Postgres databases and to ensure the smooth operation of backups, replication/mirroring processes, DTS processes, queries and any other scheduled services that are partof the system.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise database performance and query performance.
  • Provide technical support for systems developed or adapted within the organisation to the levels set in the departments Service Level Commitments.
  • Work with the IT teams to investigate and provide practical application/system solutions for approved business needs.
  • Set up and create reports, using SQL Reporting Services and other reporting tools, as requested by management and the business.
  • Supply data extracts and encryptions assistance to the business upon request.
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of databases, SQL Reporting Services, client server and programming technologies.
To be successful, candidates must have the following experience:Good knowledge and experience of Database Servers and product sets including day to day management of production systems.Installation and deployment of databases utilising SQL scripts.Good understanding of SQL licensing of databases and environments.Some experience of working with MySQL and Postgres databases and Python programming language.Creation of and maintenance of database backup plans.Manage database security.Data modelling - Creating the physical data model and modifying the model on an as-need basis.Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of Wide Area Networks, Windows client software, Active Directory and Windows Office Systems.Knowledge and experience of Finance (Coda preferred) HR, CRM and Call Logging Ticketing systems, database support and optimisation.Excellent negotiating skills, conflict resolution, innovative problemsolving skills, effective time management and a proactive approach to gaining knowledge and personal development.Good written and oral communication.
