Job Description

Summary Can you help us encourage Londoners to support our cause We have an exciting opportunity to work across two very different National Trust properties as part of a close-knit team. We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Visitor Experience Officerto support the delivery of exceptional experiences for all our visitors and supporters.This is an annualised role with a suggested working pattern of 4-5 days a week during the visitor season March to October, to include Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The remaining hours will be worked on weekdays November-February.The salary advertised is inclusive of £4,465 Inner London Weighting allowance per annum.Interviews for this role will be held on March 14th. What its like to work here Youll be both part of a small but agile property team and part of a wider London portfolio team. Working with us will give you a valuable opportunity to build networks, consult and share practices with many regional colleagues.Fenton House is a substantial 17th-century house with far-reaching views across the city, and home to world-class collections of decorative and fine art, amassed by a host of collectors.By contrast, 2 Willow Road, also in Hampstead, is a 1930s modernist home, designed and lived in by Ern Goldfinger and his family.Working across both London sites presents a valuable opportunity to be closely involved in a range of exciting and forward-thinking initiatives. What youll be doing As Visitor Experience Officer, youll support the delivery of exceptional customer service, interpretation and programming. Working alongside other members of the team, youll help develop engaging and meaningful experiences that welcome, move and inspireall our visitors.Youll love what you do and enjoy sharing your knowledge and passion with others. You may be encouraging visitors to take a closer look at a particular collection, supervising and supporting volunteers, checking presentation around the sites, or helpingproduce copy for our web pages.Youll be a visitor day duty manager on a rota with colleagues, opening and closing Fenton or 2 Willow Road and being on call to support volunteers as they welcome and guide visitors.Youll manage and support the volunteer visitor welcome team, working together to create outstanding experiences. Youll be involved in rota organisation, briefings and supervision during the visitor day.Please also read the full role profile attached to this advert.   • Experience of working to multiple deadlines and managing own workload
  • Organisational and planning skills, and a good eye for detail
  • Understanding of the aims and ethos of the National Trust
  • Good communication skills
  • A hard working approach, be committed and a team player
  • Good IT skills - Microsoft Office, as well as web and social media applications
  • Experience of producing interpretation, marketing or promotional material
  • Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety procedures
