CLINICAL PHYSIOLOGISTNeurophysiology (Band 8a)This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.University College Hospital is a leading hospital in the UK covering a broad range of medical and surgical specialties. The department of Clinical neurophysiology at UCH provides neurophysiology investigations to the hospital, undertaking EEGs, nerve conduction studies, EMG and thermal threshold studies. It is a small, friendly and responsive department with close links with the neurophysiology department at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, a world leading centre for neurology and neurosurgery.An opportunity has arisen through retirement for a Band 8a specialist clinical physiologist (neurophysiology). Candidates will be experienced physiologists with responsibility for leading the department. This post provides an excellent opportunity to provide leadership and strategic direction of this department.Candidates must have a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent, IRCP and have RCCP or equivalent registration. They must be able to undertake EEG and nerve conduction studies in out-patients and in-patients. Training in more specialised techniques will be given. The department is supportive of further formal and informal training and encourages external CPD activities.We would consider part time applications for the right candidate as long as the needs of the service can be met.The interview date will be 17/12/2020.If invited to interview there will be a presentation.There will be a 10 minute presentation for the 8A ‘In an organisation where there are 2 separate neurophysiology departments can you outline the benefits and disadvantages of this arrangement.
