Job Description

The Global CCS Institute is an international think tank whose mission is to accelerate the deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS), a vital technology to tackle climate change and deliver climate neutrality.With a team of almost 40 professionals working with and on behalf of our Members, we drive the adoption of CCS as quickly and cost-effectively as possible by sharing expertise, building capacity and providing advice and support so that this vital technology can play its part in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We are headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, with regional offices in Washington DC, Houston, London, Brussels, Beijing and Tokyo.We are seeking a Senior Consultant Carbon Capture Technology to join our newly formed CCS Technology team on a full-time, 2-year contract with a view to permanency. The position can be based in either London, Melbourne, Washington DC or Houston.About the roleReporting to the Principal Consultant CCS Technology, you will be operating on a global level, responsible for the business development and delivery of consultancy work for Members and Clients, specifically:

  • Developing strategic relationships with Members and clients to proactively build a pipeline of consultancy opportunities;
  • Winning and delivering consultancy services for Members and clients; and
  • Keeping up to date with commercial issues relevant to CCS, markets, trends and industry practices.
    • About youIt is essential you build and maintain productive, strategic relationships and networks and have a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and pursuing new business. To be successful, you will have:
  • Relevant experience related to CO2 capture technologies in a consulting or engineering firm, or as an employee of a CCS project/technology developer;
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and business development skills;
  • Demonstrable scientific or engineering expertise in electricity generation technologies and industrial processes that are significant sources of CO2 emissions; and
  • Direct experience in feasibility or FEED studies for CO2 capture projects, and/or operating CO2 capture facilities.
