The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Scrub ODP/Nurse in Theatres. This is a very busy and exciting expanding area which offers cutting-edge healthcare; our exceptional team of medical professionals have educated and stimulated their colleagues to go even further in their careers. We aim to develop the staff’s skills and knowledge necessary to fulfill their role.The Theatre Department provides a comprehensive neurosurgical service covering the full range of neurosurgical patients including all cranial, simple and complex spinal conditions. It specializes in surgery for epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. There is an excellent team of radiologists and vascular neurologists performing interventional procedures. The theatre department comprises of 6 theatres, plus Interventional Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Angio suite. The recovery area has 9 beds. Theatre is open Monday-Friday. Nights and weekend shifts are covered by on –call. The successful candidate is expected to work on all of these shifts.The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and an ability to put their patients at the centre of care demonstrating kindness and patience.
