Band 5 Registered Mental Health Staff NurseThe National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is the United Kingdom’s oldest and largest dedicated neurology hospital. We are part of University College London Hospitals NHS foundation Trust and we are linked with the University College London (UCL) Institute of Neurology, City and Southbank Universities. Together we are a major international Centre for neuroscience training and research.We are looking for a first level Registered Mental Health nurse to work in this interesting speciality which primarily deals with the psychiatric consequence of neurological disorders. We also provide a specialist treatment programme for patients experiencing functional neurological symptoms (FNS). Hughlings Jackson Ward also provides care for patients undergoing functional Neurosurgery which includes deep brain stimulation for OCD and other disorders. You will work within a team of nurses, AHMPs and psychological therapists (CBT).The successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to put their patients at the centre of care demonstrating kindness and patience.In turn we will offer you the ability to advance your skills and aim to provide you with a high standard of training in the clinical area and through our mentorship programme, clinical practice development team, clinical nurse specialists and from Southbank and City higher education institutions.
