Job Description

About the roleThe Lead User Experience Designers will be responsible for leading collaborative digital designs via workshops, review meetings and user critiques across multi-functional tech teamsKey responsibilitiesAs the Lead UX Designer you will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Be consistent at developing, championing and being the guardian of the UX process across the business and providing insight and best practice to colleagues across the business.
  • Work with digital-savvy pension guidance colleagues to shape and communicate the user experience vision across digital channels.
  • Work with our Product and Delivery managers to improve and refine our Agile / Lean approach and processes.
  • Work with Business Analysts to gather and translate business requirements into consistent and engaging digital experiences.
  • Develop working prototypes of concepts and designs for testing and review.
  • Facilitate the customer testing sessions and communicating the results to the product team and wider business.
  • Using analytics, usability testing and internal / external research to inform outputs.
  • Conducting user experience audits and heuristic evaluations.
  • Create a lean UI (User Interface) and UX documentation and assets including sketches, wireframes, low and high- fidelity prototypes, sitemaps & specification documents, as necessary.
  • Acting as the quality assurance lead for all UI and UX work.
  • Help to establish MaPS as a leader in experience design.
Essential skills and experienceAs a Lead User Experience Designer for MaPS, the following skills and experience are helpful:
  • You will already be working as a UX designer either agency side or within a complex or highly regulated organisation.
  • Demonstrate a natural flair for being user focused and have the ability to champion UX practices across the business.
  • Experience of working with Axure / Figma / Miro / Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent tools.
  • Have a good understanding of cognitive behaviour and behavioural science design techniques.
  • Experience with mobile-first, responsive site design.
  • Experience with accessibility to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard.
  • A basic understanding of accessible front-end development across multiple browsers to inform high quality, implementable solutions.
  • Experience of working with content rich and/or data-intensive websites, ideally for a consumer audience.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration, ideally have been working in agile environment and partnering with multiple digital product teams.
