Job Description

  • Agenda for Change Band 7 up to £47,637 pro rata

This role sits with in a specific team that is responsible for monitoring the quality of care and outcomes for cardiovascular patients through the collection, analysis and reporting of clinical information relating to cardiovascular patients from NHS andprivate hospitals in the UK. The aim is to help the NHS, government and regulatory bodies improve quality of care by ensuring that the care received by cardiovascular patients meets good practice standards and variation in the quality of care is reduced, therebyresulting in better patient outcomes.The post holder will perform statistical analyses on data from six national cardiovascular datasets. This includes analysis of data for annual clinical audit reports, consultant outcomes publication and quality improvement processes.The role will also include: Development and validation of measures to compare the relative performance of cardiovascular units and/or hospitals, Development, maintenance and validation of mortality risk models and other outcome measures, Collaboration withresearchers working on projects that involve analysis of health data.Experience in the analysis of complex datasets using, for example, cox regression, survival analysis, hierarchical modelling, propensity scores, etc. Experience working with issues arising from the collection, completeness, and quality of clinical or surveydata.
