Head of GovernanceProfessional Representative BodyHybrid Working - at least 2 Days Office Based Central London, 1-3 Days Home BasedBasic Salary: Up to £65,000 (depending on skills and experience) Plus a benefits including Up to 31 Days Holiday, Up to 12% employers pension contribution, Enhanced maternity and paternity pay, Life cover, and moreFull Time, Permanent roleOur client a leading professional representative body with 17,000 individual members in England and Wales is currently recruiting for a Head of GovernanceThe Role of Head of GovernanceTo develop, secure and identify fit-for-purpose governance arrangements for the body, putting appropriate structures and systems in place to ensure adherence to constitutional documentation, statutory obligations, governance principles and governance bestpractices across the body and its committees.The postholder will lead on the development, design and implementation of the bodys and strategic planning process ensuring that business plans feed into, and are aligned with, the overall strategic objectives.The postholder will also be responsible for managing the system of internal governance controls that cover risk monitoring, regulatory independence and the provision of information from the regulator.The postholder will manage 3 x direct reports - executive support assistant, committee governance officer and executive officerPerson SpecificationEssentialEducated to postgraduate level or equivalent experienceUnderstanding and a willingness to learn more of the structure of the legal professionSolid experience of business planning, including co-ordination and embedding corporate strategic objectivesSolid experience of leading the development and implementation of changing business processes and governance structures to promote efficiencySolid technical experience in Corporate Governance mattersStrong ability to initiate and develop reporting mechanisms and performance measurement toolsConfident use of standard technology for sophisticated business use: Outlook, Word, ExcelMeticulous attention to detailStrategic thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture and to identify unforeseen consequential events arising from decisions made or changes to policies/processesSignificant communication skills: ability to convey information clearly and accurately, orally and in writingExcellent organisational skills,Good understanding of project management principlesStrong problem-solving skills: ability to provide constructive advice and analyse information and adopt a solution focused approachDemonstrable events management experienceExcellent record keeping skillsExcellent organisational skills.Desirable ICSA certificate in corporate governanceFoundation level data protection qualificationTranslating policy objectives into practical programmes for deliveryGood experience of records management practice including record retention and disposal.Knowledge of company lawTo apply for this role Head of Governance please send your CVDue to the volume of applications, we are only able to contact successful applicants.
