* Head of Engineering* £110,000 - £125,000* FinTech Start-up!A high-growth and well-funded FinTech start-up business is recruiting for a Head of Engineering who will be integral in supporting the business to build a high-performing internal engineering and technology function. The businesses currently partners closelywith an external software engineering provider, and the Head of Engineering will have autonomy to build an internal development function. You will be working closely with the CEO and support the business to scale an already-established fintech organisation.The business currently operates on a hybrid-working model, working 2-3 days a week from their modern office in London. As the business is building a collaborative development environment which is part of their long-term plan to in-source development, the successfulHead of Engineering will be required to be present in their London office 2-3 days a week.The successful Head of Engineering will have the following attributes:* 7+ years experience working within a Software Engineering role commercially.* An exceptional understanding of one of the following development languages: Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#, Objective-C or Flutter.* Experience designing and developing customer-centric platforms.* A strong understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).* Experience hiring and continuously developing software engineers and technology teams.* A strong understanding of complex distributed architectures, algorithms and data structures.* Experience working within a high-growth (ideally, fintech) environment is highly desirable.The Head of Engineering will be joining the business as they look to scale their engineering team.
