Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager within our unique day nursery based just a stone’s throw from the World-Famous Camden Market. The Littlehaven Nursery is an independent children’s day nursery with beautiful facilities and a passionate staff team.We are currently looking for an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Deputy Nursery Manager to support our nursery manager in delivering further success and growth within our stunning nursery setting.This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised friendly individual who has a can-do attitude. Along with some deputy nursery management experience and excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum. They must be an inspirational team leader, with skills in working closely with parents/carers and of course children.About usThe Littlehaven nursery is unique in several ways. Our nursery is a small, stand alone, independent Ofsted registered 48 place community day nursery. It is beautifully equipped with a huge garden, access to an environmental hub and an AstroTurf sports facility. We care for children aged between 3 months to 5 years with a combination of funded & fee-paying families.The Littlehaven Nursery is a not for profit business with 100% of its profits contributing to the cost of delivering services and support to local residents by the Castlehaven Community Association (CCA). CCA is a 38-year-old award-winning registered local charity.Requirements:

  • A relevant childcare qualification (NNEB, Diploma, NVQ4 or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 1yrs Deputy Nursery Manager experience
  • At least 2yrs experience working in a nursery setting
  • Level 3 Child Safeguarding Training Cert
  • A valid Paediatric First Aid Cert
  • Other training relevant to working in Day Nursery Settings
  • Enhanced DBS Clearance.
  • Two relevant references.

And you love working with children and families.Job Summary:
  • To support the nursery manager in the operations of the nursery ensuring high standards of learning, development, and care for young children
  • To work with the nursery manager to effectively lead all the staff within the nursery
  • To support the manager to oversee all the activities, planning, monitoring, health & safety, review, budget, and administration
  • Effectively communicate with the parents and guardians on day-to-day basis.
  • To support the manager to drive and deliver the highest standard of care throughout the nursery as detailed in the childcare audit and OFSTED inspections
  • Main Responsibilities
  • To be a supporting role to the manager and oversee the day-to-day management, staffing, organisation, and smooth running of the nursery.
  • To be responsible for high standards of care and education of children aged between 3 months and 5 years, in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • To ensure that the nursery is clean, safe, and welcoming for children, parents/carers, staff and visitors.
  • To have day to day responsibility for the planning in the nursery rooms, staff rotas and the use of resources.
  • To cascade information to the relevant people and departments in a timely fashion.
  • To ensure the EYFS is promoted & delivered within the setting, and all principles adhered to.
  • To keep up to date records of all children.
  • To have good working knowledge of key Microsoft Office 365 packages.
  • To give feedback to parents about their child’s development and progress.
  • To uphold all Nursery policies & procedures.
  • As necessary, to help manage the work of staff who are appointed for supply work, or to help provide supervision for students on placement.
  • You’ll be expected to build good working relationships at every level.
