CLINICAL PHYSIOLOGISTNeurophysiology (Band 7)This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.University College Hospital is a leading hospital in the UK covering a broad range of medical and surgical specialties. The department of Clinical neurophysiology at UCH provides neurophysiology investigations to the hospital, undertaking EEGs, nerve conduction studies, EMG and thermal threshold studies. The department has a Professorial Consultant and 4 physiologists who undertake EEG recording and nerve conduction studies. It is a small, friendly and responsive department with close links with the neurophysiology department at the nearby National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, a world leading centre for neurology and neurosurgery.An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 specialist clinical physiologist (neurophysiology). Candidates will be qualified physiologists who have experience at band 6 level and are ready to take on a leadership role. This post provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in more complex investigations. Senior physiologists and Consultant Medical Staff provide training and teaching in all investigations.Candidates must have a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent, Part I IRCP and be eligible for RCCP registration. They must be able to undertake EEG and nerve conduction studies in out-patients and in-patients. Training in more specialised techniques will be given.
