As our Corporate Buying Director, you’ll develop the sales, profitability and future growth of our business.A skilled negotiator, you’re constantly in talks with suppliers and our corporate offices to compare costs and product options. Your decisions are an intelligent reflection of market data and research, a passion for quality and strong commercial instinct.Added to that, you’ll be making proposals on buying prices, recommending sourcing decisions from authorised suppliers, visiting trade fairs, arranging (and taking part) in sampling sessions. This role is one of the fastest, most varied Buying Director roles around.As an International Buying Director some of your duties will include:

  • Sourcing, building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Working collaboratively with the Global buying departments
  • Overall responsibility across multiple departments including Corporate Responsibility, Logistics and Quality
  • Ensuring best cost prices are achieved across the department
  • Ensuring selected product lines achieve delivery time frames whilst maintaining quality
  • Attending trade fairs / shows including international & meeting suppliers
  • Negotiating the best contracts & terms with both suppliers and providers
  • Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines with the buying team
  • Forecasting effectively
  • Working closely with the product teams to maintain quality levels within products
  • Develop the knowledge within your Buying team to ensure individuals achieve their individual career potential
    • Key requirements for the role:
  • Proven previous experience as Buying Director or Head of Buying within a fast-moving retail environment
  • Experience with with top tier FMCG brands, P&G, Unileaver, Pepsico, Nestle, ABinbev, Danone, Kraft etc
  • Educated to degree level essential minimum of
  • Ability to develop and motivate a team is essential
  • Strong attention to detail & ability to prioritise multiple workloads essential
  • Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing retail market
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise / influence effectively at all levels
