An opportunity has arisen for a Biomedical Scientist to work in the Chemical Pathology Department at Great Ormond Street Hospital. You will become part of a team of 60+ people in a busy department comprising of Rapid Response, routine, enzyme, metabolic & newborn screening laboratories which provide specialised biochemical diagnostic & monitoring services to patients both within the hospital and external users worldwide.The department is well equipped & covers a wide range of analytical techniques & instrumentation including Tandem MS, GC-MS, HPLC/UHPLC, Vitros, Immulite and ICP-MS. Previous experience of working within paediatric laboratory medicine would be advantageous.This is a post within Rapid Response Laboratory and the successful candidate will be required to participate in the extended day and out-of-hours shift service. Core working hours are 08.00 to 20.00, which are covered by 3 shifts, 8am – 4.30pm, 9am – 5.30pm and 11.30am – 8pm.Participation in the rostered night shift (8pm to 8am) is also required.
