Job Description

Applications DeveloperOne Housing’s Software Development team is part of IT Operations. The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of business applications and system integrations.Reporting to the Business Solutions Manager, this Application Developer role sits within the Development team but will also work closely with QA and Application Support.Technology stack is diverse and includes Azure, PowerApps, Dynamics, .NET Core and Mulesoft as well as some legacy platforms. The IT corporate strategy is cloud-first and API-led so there will be many opportunities to learn new technologies and be part of a transformational journey.The role would ideally suit a web developer looking to diversify and gain experience in low-code, PaaS and IaaS solution development.Duties

  • Development of well-structured systems which utilise efficient, scalable code that follows our in-house coding standards and best practices.
  • Effective and meaningful documentation of systems to ensure ease of support and modification in the future.
  • Development of applications that meet agreed functional and technical requirements and provide excellent usability and reliability from a user perspective.
  • Effective collaboration with colleagues and internal customers, to ensure that development targets and customer expectations are met.
  • Ongoing personal development to ensure that the latest development tools and techniques can be utilised where appropriate.
  • To work flexibly, which may on occasion involve out of office business hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Attend daily stand-ups and provide updates on tasks in hand, impediments as well as successes.

  • About youYou will need the following experienceEssential:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Experienced in:
  • APIs (RESTful and SOAP)
  • CI / CD tools and platforms e.g. Azure DevOps, Teamcity, TFS
  • SQL (On-premise and/or Azure)
  • C# or similar language
  • TDD
  • Customer service driven with excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • A passion for innovation and technology.
  • Excellent and proven problem solving and troubleshooting experience.
  • Personal accountability and drive for excellence.
  • 3 years + professional experience in application development roles.
  • Desirable:
  • Low-code Microsoft platforms e.g. Power Apps, Dynamics
  • Integration platforms e.g. Mulesoft, Dell Boomi, Azure
  • Javascript frameworks e.g. Angular
  • RAML, Swagger
  • Unstructured databases e.g. Azure Blob / Cosmos, MongoDB
