This hugely successful international technology corporate requires an experienced Software Engineer/DevOps to join a growing team focused on developing & enhancing a global analytics platform that gathers & processes data from across the organization.Home based & working as part of this Big Data team, the Software Engineer/DevOps will maintain, develop, test & operate a complex software stack designed to provide a high performance and resilient platform that delivers the vast analytics needs of the business.The work will offer plenty of challenges, intellectually as well as technically as you develop, code & release complete systems to a high standard. The team uses a range of different languages & technologies in the course of their work, so if you are strong in Java, Scala, Javascript, C#, Perl, Python or Go and enjoy the challenge of learning & using new languages & technologies, then this is the contract for you !Skills & Experience:- A good blend of software development & DevOps skills- Experience of Big Data technologies is highly beneficial- A strong background in one or more programming languages such as Scala, Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, Go, Perl and a desire to learn more!- Linux systems and containers administration using Docker or Kubernetes- Automation and configuration management systems (e.g. Ansible, Puppet or Chef)- Infrastructure-as-code (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform)- CI/CD tools using Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, CircleCI or similar- Logging management and monitoring using ELK, Splunk, Prometheus- AWS Cloud services although GCP or Azure will suffice- Version control systems, such as git, svn- Big data technologies (e.g. Spark, Kafka, Cassandra, Presto, Hadoop)- Great people skills and team ethic – happy to learn & share with others- A good university degree in computer science/software engineering or enjoy equivalent experience and knowledge.Interviews are commencing shortly so apply now !
