We have a brand-new role for an outstanding Senior Mechanical Engineer / Automation System Consultant who wants to shape the future of advanced industrial automation and production machinery. This is a role for very senior manufacturing systems expert with a background Mechanical Engineering (or similar) and a solid track record of designing and delivering advanced automated production systems - someone with a true passion for innovation in special purpose machine design. This unique opportunity will see you working for arguably one of the UKs best R&D technology companies. Youll be focusing on real-world, cutting-edge machinery and production line design projects bringing together elements of automation, mechanical, electrical and software engineering.As Senior Mechanical Engineer / Automation System Consultant, you will act as Systems Architect and Project Manager for a diverse range of assignments ranging from high speed production line machinery for FMCG consumer goods, involving complex industrial robotic handling systems through to special purpose production and packaging machinery for pharmaceutical applications. These highly advanced industrial automation design projects will see you develop an enviable array of cross application and industry sector knowledge.You will need:Solid academic background, with at least a 2.1 BEng/MEng degree or similar in a relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Production Engineering, MechatronicsAt least 5 years commercially driven engineering experience. Ability to drive and lead a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical and software designers, machine builders and commissioning experts to deliver total production level automation solutions.Experience in design and development of high-speed capital equipment including filling and packaging lines, automated handling equipment etc. for a wide array of applications.In return, you can expect a very competitive salary, fantastic benefits along with an excellent working environment, all the latest tools and toys.
