Job Description

Events Programme Manager Eden Brown Synergy is currently working in partnership with an Public Sector organisation in Cambridgeshire which is looking for an Events Programme Manager on an interim basis for a 1 year contract. The post holder will lead and manage the team responsiblefor the programme content of two venues, conferencing, audience development and analysis, and the redevelopment of the venues business model. This post is a core part of the Cultural Services and Events team and will be expected to work closely with othermembers of that team, including the Venues General Manager, Festival Manager, City Events Manager, and the Marketing and Development Manager.The Role:

  • Lead on the programme structure and content for the two venues, including both the performance-based programme and the conferencing and community activity in the venues, to ensure that the programme reflects the agreed programme strategy and outcomes.
  • Working closely with the Festival team and freelance programmer to enhance overall programme.
  • Support audience development for the City Events programme, working closely with the City Events Manager
  • Ensure that programming in all areas positively contributes to the financial sustainability of the services
  • Manage the programme strategies for the Festival and the venues, ensuring that the programme strategies reflect both corporate and service level outcomes.
  • Work with the Cultural Services Manager on the development and updating of programme strategies in a timely manner.
  • Manage the programming team to ensure that all programming activity is delivered effectively on time, and to clear parameters (including but not limited to financial)
  • Ensure that there is excellent communication with both the Cultural Servcies marketing and development team and venue operations teams across all areas of programming.
  • Pro-actively engage in local, regional, national and international external networks in support of the effective delivery of corporate and service level objectives
Experience & Qualifications Required:
  • Significant experience of booking artists in a venue and/or a festival context
  • Experience of planning and developing artistic programmes across a range of genres, including music and theatre
  • Experience of setting, managing and monitoring budgets
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Experience of developing strategies
  • Experience of working in a project team
  • Up to date knowledge of venues and festivals and conferences in the UK
  • Up to date knowledge and skill in negotiating with artist agents, and event promoters
This is a part time role (30 hours a week), initially for 1 year starting in Jan 2024. The role is paying £28.67 per hour umbrella.
