Job Description

Principal Scientist - Translational SciencesSector - Drug DiscoveryLocation - CambridgeOur client is a Cambridgeshire based Drug Discovery company who specialise in the development of treatments for neurodegenerative, mitochondrial and other diseases. An opportunity has now become available for a Principal Scientist to join the company supporting with the CNS Translational strategy for pipeline projects.The role:As a Principle Scientist you will be responsible for:

  • Identification of relevant target markers based on mechanism and CNS disease understanding
  • Design and develop in vivo target engagement, pharmacodynamics and relevant marker studies
  • Interpret and analyse data using appropriate statistical programs
  • Provide further input into relevant disease areas, Parkinsons and neurodegenerative diseases.
    • Suitable applicants:
  • Educated to PhD level in Neurology or Neuroscience with additional industry experience
  • Previous experience in identification and study of significant translational markers in CNS area.
  • Previous experience with Mitochondrial dysfunction, protein mis-folding, cellular proteostasis mechanisms and neuroinflammation.
  • Experience working within a research and translational team
  • Publications record within relevant translational fields - Parkinsons or other neurodegenerative fields
  • Experience in In Vivo models and In Vivo studies.
