The roleCambridge University Estates Division is looking to recruit a Plumber to join their busy Mechanical Maintenance team. The Maintenance Section is responsible for maintaining the operational estate as well as carrying out minor refurbishments, alterations andPPM. The successful candidate will be required to carry out repairs and alterations to the estate both internally and externally within a maintenance context. As a Plumber the role holder will be required to undertake many varied tasks as a frontline operative.Carrying out routine and reactive tasks to ensure facilities are readily available for University staff. These will include repair and upgrades to toilets, basins, showers, along with completing pipe work repairs to hot and cold water, and small scale heatingservices.The role holder will work individually or as part of small team of fitters and assistants and occasionally a trainee, together with selected specialist contractors in the repair and refurbishment of building services. About you:The ideal candidate will be qualified to NVQ L2 in Plumbing and Heating or an equivalent field. Knowledge and compatibility of sanitary ware and its fittings will be beneficial, along with an understanding of building services within a commercial setting. Thecandidate must have experience of fault diagnostics and the repairs that follow.
