Job Description

Plant AdministratorLongstanton£23,000 p/a Alecto Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of an excellent Multi-disciplined Civil Engineering Company based in Cambridge.Overview of the role:Provide Plant items on demand, providing best quality/value for money. Ensure a smooth, speedy after-sales service for breakdowns and off-hires. Maintain the database to enable accurate and useful data to be used for reports. Ensure owned plant and detection equipment is calibrated, maintained and inspected as per manufacturers specification.Key Accountabilities:

  • Place Plant orders accurately, on a timely basis, and in accordance with company policy
  • Check that correct rental costs are being charged on the invoices
  • Ensure order specification is correctly understood before raising orders
  • Review Plant order requests to ensure consistency with previous similar orders, and in accordance with company policy
  • Liaise with yard staff to ensure a free flow of information about expected on & off-hires of plant items and status of owned equipment in the yard.
  • Assist Transport Manager in the production of relevant statistics
    • The below are desirable but not essential:
  • Knowledge of plant items supplied by major providers - e.g., GAP, Sunbelt Rentals, Speedy Hire
  • Knowledge of civils plant items commonly used in the installation of fibre optic networks
  • Experience of using Purchase Order and equipment databases
