Job Description

Mould Setter required for a plastic injection moulding company for their site in Whittlesey The successful candidate will have previous experience injection moulding.Mould Setter- Plastics (Whittlesey) Position Overview

  • Ensure all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner within the parameters of current health and safety legislation (HASAW Act 1974) To carry out tool changes as required ensuring the whole production process including secondary operations suchas assembly, sprue grinding, Etc are set and functioning correctly and that any deviations to standard are reported.
  • To conduct part first offs in conjunction with the production cell / team leaders, as part of the tool setting process thus ensuring the products being made are to specification, and all paperwork is correct and signed off.
  • To Maintain good housekeeping at all times in line with the Companys requirements ensuring that all machines and their surrounding areas are left clean, tidy and free from unwanted material.
  • To photograph /picture and distribute the whole process after completing a tool change to show evidence of the set up and cleanliness of the area to include the press, surrounding area, the machine settings and the component being produced.
  • To optimize the cycle time of all machines running against the standard cycle time in order to achieve an OEE average of 70% and 80% for the base cell.
  • Ensure the site is always left in a safe and secure situation (isolating power, water, air etc.) when working outside normal working times.
  • Carry out /support minor tooling and/or machine repairs where and when required.
  • Organize and store tooling in a safe and convenient place for enhanced efficiency and working practice
