Job Description

Tissue EngineerTEC partners are working with a well-funded start-up biotechnology company. They are engineering a scalable, end-to-end Cultured Meat production system that will enable technologies and raw materials to empower food producers all over the world to make theirown cultivated meats tailored local tastes and desired specifications. They are growing fast and are looking for a Bioreactor/Tissue Engineer to join their team. As a Bioreactor/Tissue Engineer you will be developing bioreactors for growing adherent mammalian cells. The salary range is quite broad as it varies with experienceand they are quite open.Bioreactor/Tissue Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Scaffold fabrication/generation using techniques like electrospinning, etc.
  • Designing, assembling, fabricating, validating and using bioreactors with scaffolds for adherent cells.
  • Characterisation of scaffolds using various analytical techniques (i.e. SEM, XPS, XRD, etc)
  • Planning, efficient execution, comprehensive analysis and presentation of experimental data.
  • Cell culture within scaffolds
Bioreactor/Tissue Engineer Requirements:
  • PhD or at least 3 years of relevant work experience beyond Bachelors/Masters in relevant subjects such as Bioengineering, Biomaterials Sciences, Tissue Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering,Chemical Engineering.
  • Scaffold fabrication using techniques such as electrospinning, soft lithography, injection moulding, freeze-drying, etc.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, fabricating/building, and assembling bioreactors incorporating scaffolds for adherent cells or fluidic (dynamic) devices with scaffolds for adherent cells. This may include in vitro models or Organ-on-a-Chip devices wheremammalian cells are grown within scaffolds under flowing media.
  • Characterisation of scaffolds or hydrogels using various analytical techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), tensile and other mechanical testing, XPS.
  • Adherent mammalian cell culture in 3D within scaffolds under flow
  • Experience in immunostaining and qPCR.
Bioreactor/Tissue Engineer Desirable:
  • Hydrogel development and organogenesis
  • Experience in general fabrication techniques (i.e. prototyping, 3D CAD, 3D printing, metal works)
  • Operation and validation of bioreactors for cells
  • Procurement and sourcing of materials and equipment for biomaterials, scaffolds and devices.
  • Computational modelling of fluid dynamics (Computational Fluid Dyanmics -CFD), cell growth and other phenomena within scaffolds
The role comes with a great deal of benefits including a competitive salary and stock options. If you want to be an integral part of a rapidly growing start-up and have the exposure to such an innovative market then send your CV to Stephanie from TEC Partners.
