Study Start-up (SSU) Team LeaderField based or LutonOur mission is ambitious and it takes the skills of a collaborative team to really deliver on what science can do and to always put patients first.You are responsible for line managing a dedicated team of staff responsible for SSU activities, including planning and utilization of SSU team resources, handling assigned budget, team objective setting and performance follow-up. You’ll be the single point of contact for early landscaping of new indications and feasibilities conducted for UK Site Management and Monitoring (SMM) and responsible for project management of all studies from feasibility to country selection, including ensuring robust processes are in place for conducting feasibilities through early insight into studies planned to come to UK and/or studies that are a good fit for UK.We expect you to collaborate with UK Marketing Company Medical teams, Global Therapy Area teams and ensure relationship management of external research networks and key health care professionals. It’s also your responsibility to support the strategic planning and placement of new studies in the UK.You’ll be responsible for leading all aspects of the start-up element of clinical interventional studies through supervision of UK SSU Team and support/engagement with Local Study Managers (LSMs) assigned to allocated studies, ensuring delivery of start-up to agreed timelines and in compliance with AZ Procedural Documents, international guidelines such as ICH and GCP as well as relevant local regulations.Key to success, you will also be ensuring continuous SSU process improvement and establishing high quality standards across all AZ internally led studies will be your goal as well as exploring the UK clinical trial environment to establish a network of AZ preferred sites conducting our studies across all phases and in areas of specialty care. You will also be developing a good understanding across AstraZeneca’s wide portfolio of products.You will have the following skills and experiences:
