Simulation EngineerWe are looking for a bright Modelling & Simulation Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team within a highly professional technical R&D company in Cambridgeshire. With a background in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Maths or similar, the Simulation Engineer will work on major development projects within consumer technology, medical devices, industrial processes & renewable energy sectors. Your role will focus on the development of mathematical and computational models to simulate and optimise the performance of this diverse range of products and processes. In return your will be rewarded with the satisfaction of seeing your ground-breaking new creations launched as real-world products in the international market.Requirements for Modelling & Simulation Engineer:A good degree (BSc, BEng, MEng, MPhys etc) in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Maths or related subject from a leading university.A post graduate qualification in numerical or computational simulation would be highly advantageousExcellent core mathematics skills with experience of application of mathematical modelling to science and engineering problems, ideally within a product or process development environmentExtensive experience developing and optimising mathematical models from first principles and implementation in bespoke algorithms, assessing suitability and confidence of mathematical and computational modelsExperience in several of the following fields; CFD, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, optics, electromagnetics, static and dynamic mechanicsProficiency in either or both of OpenFOAM and Comsol.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to colleagues and clients the technical details of a model, and how and where it can be appliedCommercial awareness, bright, conscientious and creative with an ability to demonstrate a hobby or interest with a practical or technical relevanceIn return, the successful applicant can look forward to an excellent and stimulating working environment and the chance to work with some of the UKs brightest Scientists and Engineers on a wide variety of ground-breaking projects.
