We are currently looking for a Senior Scientific Software Developer to join a leading Drug Discovery company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Senior Scientific Software Developer you will be responsible for helping shape the development of a worldclass in-house informatics platform, with a particular focus on software relating to structure-based drug discovery. You will also be involved in deciding scientific strategy and line management of more junior Scientific Software Developers. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Senior Scientific Software Developer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. Develop new tools to support scientists with their emerging project needs and help to maintain and extend existing code bases.2. Carry out front-end and back-end web development. 3. Develop and maintain relational databases and chemical databases (e.g. ChEMBL/WDI).4. Helping decide scientific strategy. ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Scientific Software Developer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. A PhD in Computational Chemistry or a related field, ideally with extensive experience developing software for structure-based drug discovery. 2. Expert knowledge in Python. 3. Ideally, familiarity with relational databases, chemical databases (e.g. ChEMBL/WDI), and scripting using RDKit or similar toolkits. 4.
