Protein Scientist Cambridge Pay 20-25/hour 12 month contract A leading biopharmaceutical organisation are looking for a Protein Scientist or Senior Protein Scientist to join them on a 12 month contract. This individual will be involved in the production of proteins to elucidate mechanisms of targeted protein degradation and work with novel E3 ligases. There will be a significant focus in the role on hit finding and drug discovery. The successful individual will be a key member of the department, generating vital proteins to support drug discovery projects in the targeted degradation area. They will be lab-based, proposing experimental strategies, troubleshooting problems and making a significant contribution to the practical delivery of projects. Requirements:Experience in the purification of proteins (including antibodies) for target validation, screening and/or structure. Understanding of a range of expression systems including in vitro translation, bacterial (E.coli) expression, yeast (Pichia pastoris), baculovirus, mammalian transient and stable expression systems.Experience in the biochemical, physicochemical and functional characterization of proteins. Experience in large scale production of proteins, including endotoxin free proteins and/or production of modified or labeled proteins would be useful but is not essential.Experience in targetted protein degradation would be advanatageous. It would be advantageous to have an understanding of pre-clinical drug discovery and how it contributes projects as well as an understanding of how different drug discovery disciplines contribute to a project.
