We are looking for outstanding Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an expanding, highly professional, technical R&D company developing new products on behalf of well-known external clients. Typical projects include medical/healthcare devices, consumer technology products and advanced machinery such as robotic assembly and automation systems. The company has won an eye-watering collection of awards by transforming new ideas, designs and technology breakthroughs into commercial success. Working from the companys state-of-the-art facilities just outside Cambridge, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to this success by developing complex diagnostics devices and innovative products, working in close collaboration with leading life-sciences companies.Senior Mechanical Engineer job requirements:Academics:Good degree ( BSc, BEng, MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or related subject from a leading university.Technical Skills and Experience:Excellent technical abilities in many of the following areas:Experience designing diagnostic devices including involvement in production launchConcept generation; engineering and statistical analysis and detail design; design of experiments; design for high and low volume manufacturing.Familiar with working to ISO 13485, 21CFR820 and ISO14971; design control; compilation of Design History File; verification and validation.Experience in design for manufacturing, NPI, Manufacturing support, Manufacturing process developmentProficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)Soft Skills :Commercial awareness in one of the following environments: technical / design consultancy; technology start-up; new product development departmentRelevant practical experience with strong evidence of project leadership with good analytical and creative capabilitiesStrong drive to rapidly absorb and develop further technical, project leadership and sales skills in a wide range of engineering disciplinesBright, conscientious and creative with an ability to demonstrate a hobby or interest with a practical or technical relevanceOur view:This has to be one of the most exciting -and varied Mechanical Engineering jobs going!
