Do you want to help develop the compiler toolchain that powers all the Linux distributions for the Arm architectureHere is an excellent opportunity to work for an outstanding toolchain team that leads enabling Arm architectures and CPU cores in the GNUToolchain! We are looking for an experienced engineer who is passionate about developing compilers and loves open-source software.The toolchain is comprised of the open-source GCC, Binutils, Newlib, Glibc and GDB. In Arms GNU Tools team, we build supportfor future architectures in the toolchain and ensure robustness and performance of the existing support.As a member of the team, you will work closely with the team and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation as well as with the open-source communityto invent and apply the best solutions for the challenges in enabling the future of computing. Your work will involve problem-solving and improvements in areas of the toolchain such as the compiler, assembler, linker, libraries and debugger.Key Responsibilities:Engineeringhigh-quality toolchain improvementsCollaborating with colleagues across Arm to improve the support for the Arm Architecture & IPContribution to open-source software projectsEssential Skills & Experience:Excellent programming skills in C/C++Experience developingcompiler toolchain(s)Experience in Linux software development environmentExperience improving, testing, delivering, and maintaining large, complex code-bases and production-quality software.Dedicated, flexible and adaptable - you can learn new skills to adaptand apply across multiple types of work.Desirable Skills & Experience:Experience developing any of GCC, Binutils, GDB, Glibc, Newlib and deep internal knowledge in any of these areas.Experience in open-source software development, contribution processes andin working with open-source communitiesEducation & Qualifications:A good degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science / Software Engineering, or an alternative with relevant experience.#LI-JW1
