Job Description

I am currently working with a leading biopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge who are looking for aScientist with experience, either through academia or industry, of mammalian cell culture to assist within their antibody discovery team.Role:Research ScientistLocation: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UKContract:PermanentHours:Full-time, 37.5 hours per weekDuties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Work both independently and within a team to contribute to antibody discovery programmes, mainly though the application of mammalian cell culture knowledge.
  • Independently design and execute routine experiments as necessary.
  • Assist in designing and running (under limited supervision) more complex experiments.
  • Perform data analysis, contribute to write-ups and presentations on the undertaken work.
  • To assist in contributing to, and drafting, Quality and Controlled documents.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • An MSc (or BSc with demonstrable experience within a relevant field) in molecular biology, or related field.
  • Experience culturing mammalian cell lines.
  • Understanding and practice of aseptic techniques.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
  • Working with hybridoma cells
  • Working with murine B cells
  • Experience of cell line expansion and freezing
  • Protein purification skills
