Job Description

Retail Relief Shop Manager-£23,011 + Mileage Reimbursement - North West - East AngliaThe RoleWant to work for a charity that believes in succession and nurturing its employees If you answered yes, then we want YOU to join our friendly ever-growing team.East Anglias Childrens Hospice (EACH) are seeking a Retail Relief Shop Manager to step in and ensure seamless operations in the absence of the primary Shop Manager.Shops covered by role include – applicants should ideally be situated in a location to be able to regularly travel to the following: Cambridge, St Ives, Huntingdon, Ely, Soham and Royston.*Driving License and own transport - essential criteria for this role*Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate volunteer effort to ensure that the shops maximise their turnover whilst minimising costs.
  • Ensure that volunteers are well informed and motivated so that they can develop to their individual potential.
  • Maintain a high standard of display, presentation and cleanliness throughout the shops.
  • Manage and undertake the sorting, moving and storage of a high volume of donated goods.
  • Ensure that all monies are banked, and financial returns completed on a weekly basis.
  • Responsibility for all aspects of security – stock, premises, money (retail income and cash donations) and volunteers / staff.

The Person
  • Previous retail experience - charity shop experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Hands-on approach and the ability to motivate a team of volunteers.
  • Experience of maximising sales & generating income.
